Pet Portraits Image Guidelines

Choosing the right photo helps us create a beautiful, accurate portrait of your pet. Follow the simple guidelines below to make sure we capture every detail perfectly.

Best Photo

Use a clear, well-lit photo where your pet’s features are easy to see.

  • Your pet is looking directly at the camera
  • Photo is taken at eye level
  • Bright, natural lighting with even exposure
  • Face and neck are fully visible
  • No heavy filters or harsh shadows

Avoid Using

Unclear angles or lighting

  • Head is tilted, turned sideways, or cut off
  • Photo is taken from above or below eye level
  • Dark lighting or strong shadows hiding details

Avoid Using

Obstructed or unclear features

  • Pet is lying down or curled up
  • Face, ears, or neck are not fully visible
  • Image is blurry, cropped too tight, or low quality

Unsure if your photo is good to go?

You’re welcome to send your image to us at care@thelunaandsol.com, and we’ll happily take a look before you order.

We know some photos are extra meaningful—especially when they’re the only memories of a beloved pet who has crossed the rainbow bridge. While not every photo is perfect, many can still be transformed into a beautiful portrait.

If there’s a chance we can make it work, we’ll do our best.
